Ask yourself what are the things you've always wanted someone to say to you, but no one ever has. Ask yourself how many portraits were taken of you when you were a tween (ages 10-13). I know for myself there are not very many. Quite often when I am visiting my Mom I dig out the old photo albums and look through all the pictures of when I was little. There are many photographs of me as a baby and a child but not too many of when my siblings and I when we were in our tweens or teenage years for sure. In came the idea for the Who I Am project. This is a project for tweens to celebrate who they are and what they enjoy doing currently. This project is paired with beautiful portraits and quotes from loved ones about the tween.
I would like to introduce you to Miss E! She is so beautiful and talented. Her passion is singing and playing the piano. She is the oldest child in her family and I swear she looks just like her mom! She describes herself as a leader, energetic and smart. Her favourite TV show is h2O, food is pancakes, her most comfortable outfit is her rainbow shirt and sweat pants. Her favourite colour is turquoise and she loves to do gymnastics and dance! She cannot live without music. Her best friend "B" says "She is kind and smart. We say that we are like sisters because we are always playing and we like fashion."
"She is a very confident, energetic and creative girl. She is always busy doing something. And she does what she wants no matter what others think of her. She often rearranges the furniture in the living room to make up dance routines, and constantly using paper to write songs. Her confidence always makes me see that it doesn't matter what other people think. Sometimes her style makes me laugh, but she doesn't care. "E" be happy with your success, no matter what it is." - Mom
"My beautiful granddaughter is a sweet, talented and very smart 10 year old. What I love most about her right now is her creativity and imagination. She is good at so many things but I think singing is what she does best. I never want her to stop sharing her love for Jesus with her friends. My happiest memories of her are when she stayed with me when she was a baby. My greatest wish for you is that you will always put your friendship with Jesus above everything else." - Grandma
"Don't You Know Yet? It Is Your Light That Lights The Worlds." - Rumi
