Ask yourself what are the things you've always wanted someone to say to you, but no one ever has. Ask yourself how many portraits were taken of you when you were a tween (ages 10-13). I know for myself there are not very many. Quite often when I am visiting my Mom I dig out the old photo albums and look through all the pictures of when I was little. There are many photographs of me as a baby and a child but not too many of when my siblings and I when we were in our tweens or teenage years for sure. In came the idea for the Who I Am project. This is a project for tweens to celebrate who they are and what they enjoy doing currently. This project is paired with beautiful portraits and quotes from loved ones about the tween.
I would like to introduce to you Miss O! She is an amazing, beautiful young lady. During her portrait session we had so much fun and there are so many amazing portraits of her. Mom had told me that they quit ordering her school photos because Miss O wears glasses and pretty much every time she has her school portrait taken there was a reflection in the lens of her glasses, that took away from her amazing eyes. So during this session we adjusted the lighting and we were able to capture her with her glasses on. We also took them off for some portraits just for a variety. I am so very blessed to be able to give this gift to her and her family a simple portrait with her glasses on.
I love the Who I Am project because it is such a positive gift to give a young person. Miss O, has some amazing people in her life that have said some very beautiful things to her. I hope she can look back at this time in her life and reflect on the quotes, advice and wishes for her future. Miss O thank you for coming into the studio and bring everything that you brought into your session. Thank you for allowing me to capture your photograph and put this amazing gift together for you. It will truly last a lifetime!
"You are AMAZING! Remember that!"
